![]() Qualcomm compares this process to Photoshop layers but captured in ISP. The Cognitive ISP powers Semantic Segmentation, which enables the camera to identify different layers – like faces, clothes and backgrounds – and optimise them separately, modifying the colour, tone, sharpness and noise reduction in real-time. With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm has launched its first-ever AI-powered camera processor, the Spectra 18-bit triple Cognitive ISP. The chip also benefits from 50% more memory bandwidth than the A15 Bionic which it says works to support more graphics-intensive games and apps. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 features the Adreno GPU, which enables support for Unreal Engine 5 and photorealistic human characters with Metahuman, as well as, for the first time on a smartphone chip, real-time Hardware-Accelerated Ray Tracing.Īpple has kitted its A16 Bionic with an accelerated 5-core GPU. The company didn’t name any specific rival in its press release, but, if Apple was referring to the 8 Gen 1, the 35% performance boost on the 8 Gen 2 would put the platform more in line with the A16 Bionic in terms of performance. Like the 8 Gen 2, the A16’s CPU is also based on a 4nm architecture, allowing for 16 billion transistors for faster performance than chips based on the previous 5nm process.Īpple claims the processor can handle demanding workloads and is 40% faster than its competition. The A16 features a 6-core CPU, including 2 high-performance cores and 4 high-efficiency cores, meaning it includes one more efficiency core but fewer cores overall. The CPU consists of 1 prime core, 4 performance cores and 3 efficiency cores, delivering 35% faster performance and 40% better power efficiency compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.īut, how does it compare to the A16 Bionic? The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is equipped with the Kryo CPU, a 64-bit processor based on a 4nm process.

(Image credit: EA / Bioware.) What about cut content? ![]() However, he's subsequently gone on to say that some aspects have been tweaked, such as Mass Effect 2's somewhat unforgiving morality system. So what this was about was fidelity, taking off some of the edges people would expect."Īs for changes to the narrative and character interactions, Walters says "we considered things like story and character but that's so much a part of your experience and memory of this that we took that off the table pretty quick." An example would be the Unreal Engine 3 scripting language Kismet, there's no copy-paste equivalent to that, so every moment, every scene would essentially have to be redone from scratch and we'd take away the essence of what the trilogy was. ![]() "Quite early we spoke to people and Epic and asked what would this look like if we took it into Unreal Engine 4, and it quickly became clear that that jump would really change fundamentally what the trilogy was, and how it felt, how it played. "It quickly became this archaeological discovery, pulling things out one of the jokes I'd make, we'd talk about restoring a beautiful beloved car, but then it quickly turned into sure, if that car was buried in cement, and every time you tried to clear off some of the cement you were worried about dinging the paint or ripping off a mirror." "One of the first questions is, if we're remastering this, what does that look like, and what does it mean to us," says Mac Walters, Mass Effect Legendary Edition's project director and a longtime BioWare developer. At one point there were discussions about pursuing a more ambitious route, technologically speaking, but that would have put BioWare in a position where, essentially, the games were being rebuilt from scratch. That aside, there are no big changes to the adventure itself. I always hated the way this thing drove, so good news. Finally, and perhaps most-wanted of all, the handling of the Tonka-like Mako surface vehicle has been overhauled. On the last point, for example, you'd commonly take cover in that game and get a brief view of the interior of Shepard's skull: no more. The game's UI and various interfaces have been overhauled, and combat and exploration brought in-line with the sequels' improvements: better aiming, squad controls, team AI, and camera positioning. This makes sense, as the first game was more of an RPG and the sequels greatly improved the combat: so Mass Effect 1 is receiving something of a rework. The original Mass Effect game has received a more substantial touching-up than Mass Effect 2 and 3, primarily around the combat system and UI. We're still working on an in-depth technical analysis and review, so we'll have more to say soon. Now that the remasters are out, players are putting them to the test: Many of the Steam user reviews are positive so far, although there are some technical complaints. ![]() (Image credit: EA / Bioware.) Is Mass Effect Legendary Edition worth it? ![]() Perhaps a partial refund or a discount for the next time my friends come, because like I stated above, it would have been worth the $40, not the $70 or $90 asking online. Thanks for your review, but you left out the part where you and your friends decided to go wonder all over the casino floor when we were walking from the 1st bar to the party bus while following our host. I wont be going through this service again unless they give me a reason to. I am guessing you have my money now and dont care but I am a local here in Las Vegas and when my friends come to visit we like to do group tour deals. It would have been worth the $40 groupon deal but certainly not the full $70 price I paid. Wasnt as cool as I was expecting for vegas standards of "vip". With a group of 15 paying $90 per person, we could have done all this and then some, or at least had a place to sit. The tour was a ton of fun, however I wont go though your service again because it was hyped up way more than it was worth. VIP I suppose doesn't mean you will have a place to sit either because we were shunned from every place to sit being told it was going to cost us $$$. ![]() We waited in every line, and the guide made us the most disgusting drinks. "No cover charges or waiting in line.Enjoy unlimited summer cocktails such as margaritas, daiquiris and more on board the bus.And just to make sure we keep the party going, we have a daquiri bar on board." Obviously this was not true. "Then After that you are off into our limo party bus for a tour of the Las Vegas Strip." Nope, we took a bus to the sign, no tour of the strip occurred, and again, waited in line for 30 minutes to get a photo. Then we paid $16+ per drink, no specials were included. We waited in the venus pool line for 30 minutes just to have them not recognize our "VIP stamps" and tried to make us pay until we located our guide. First off out tour guide did the very minimum possible to guide us. The advertisement says "You will start at a party pool where you will relax and enjoy drink specials." This is a false advertisement. Us and 15 other people paid $70 a piece (unless grouponed) to be on this "VIP Pass" which was very fun, but certainly not VIP. Two of my friends and I recently were on the "vip" pool party bus pass last week. Trip May have been great, can’t comment, but communication really needs to be a lot better. Not being able to do event on our last night in Vegas was really disappointing, going to a Vegas nightclub is one of the things on the list to do. ![]() I read Ts and Cs and this is correct, but they should also have an agreement on the communication plan they have and if they don’t meet it, then they can’t fine you. ![]() On my return home, I received an email saying I’d been charged $70 dollars for our no show. Eventually received communication about 2 hours before the meeting time, which was really too late to change my rearranged plans and get to the Venetian night club.Ĭommunication needs to be a lot better and earlier, even a days notice would have been acceptable. Emailed the company when had a bit of WiFi at a stop on way back to say we’d had no details. Went to visit Grand Canyon and decided we’d do something else when we got back to Vegas. On the morning of the event still had no details sent through so wrote it off as something we weren’t going to get in. I booked this as part of 40th birthday plans for the week we were in Vegas. This was terrible, I didn’t even get to a club as, with most other comments, I didn’t receive any communication about the itinerary or anything. I know most people don’t write positive reviews and mainly negative ones, so I’ve decided I’m going to start reviewing everything i do on trip advisor, good or bad. Also 2 out of the 3 "nightclubs" were basically just bars. On top of the stupid amount of money we spend on drinks in the second club, I also had a massive phone bill from trying to call them from overseas ahead of our tour as they hadn't sent over any information until a few hours before it was due to start. They should have cancelled if they knew there wasn't any. Hardly anyone returned to the bus after the second club and I wish we didn't as the hosts were just stood at the front of the bus on their phones with nothing but lies about how it's "not their job" to sort the alcohol. If we had known we could have gone to the shop ourselves to get some as clearly that was too much of a task for our "VIP" hosts. Later found out that they hadn't had alcohol for over 2 nights so they knew they weren't going to have any and that it wasn't going to get sorted by the time we come back on. Didn't get told this until we were already on the bus, Tommy said that this was due to someone "dropping the ball" and hoped it would be sorted by the time we got back on the bus. There was NO ALCOHOL on the bus as promised. Honestly the worst night I have ever had in Vegas. |
